Gateway to the North Channel

Explore the North Channel end-to-end and you have to pass through the Port of Little Current.  What a treat!  You’ll see one of the last remaining iron swing bridges in Canada.  During daylight summer daylight hours it opens for 15 minutes to start each hour.  But hey, don’t just pass through.  Stop in.

Stop at Spider Bay Marina… 120 slips just half a kilometer from downtown (an easy walk!).  It’s a full service marina with gas, diesel and pump out… 30-amp power and water at the slips.  There’s room for boats up to 45 feet and there’s a glorious view of the North Channel.  If you arrive by car hauling your boat, there’s a launch ramp right at Spider Bay with plenty of parking for tow vehicles and trailers.

You can also stop at the downtown marina… 72 transient slips with room for boats up to 60 feet.   Here you have water, 30- and 50-amp service with fuel and pump out provided by Wally’s Dock Service.

Both the downtown marina and Spider Bay have free wireless Internet.  In fact you can get on line pretty well anywhere in town!

Wherever you stay, take the time to explore Little Current.  You’ll find what you need - from a post office to ATMs, pharmacy and sporting goods… doctors and dentists, foot care and a registered massage therapist… and that’s one wonderful way to get the boating kinks out.

Little Current has what you want, too - restaurants, gifts, liquor and beer stores, and more.  When you want to stretch your legs there are easy trails and routes for more rigorous treks… all leading through northern woods to some of the most breathtaking views anywhere. And if you’d like to get away from the v-berth for a night or two, you’ll find motels, inns and B&B’s with lots of hot water for showers and big comfortable beds.

Come to Little Current - Gateway to the North Channel.  Make yourself at home!
