Downtown Trenton is the Place to Start
One of the cities that formed Quinte West, Trenton is much more than a stopping point between the Bay of Quinte and the Trent-Severn WaterWay.
Trenton lies halfway between Kingston and Toronto and is home to the Rescue Co-ordination Centre for the Great Lakes area. This is a busy port for recreational boaters, where you’ll find enthusiasts fishing for walleye or largemouth bass, sailing with the local yacht clubs, heading up river or cruising home after a wonderful holiday on the water.
With easy access to major highways, excellent marina facilities plus plenty of transient slips available for overnighters, Trenton is a place where cruisers often meet friends for the voyage. If your guests arrive early, there’s plenty of hotels, motels and bed and breakfasts and restaurants to enjoy.
Trent is also a great place to stay and look around. You can walk downtown from Fraser Park Marina… browse the interesting shops, find a cafe for lunch or a place to dine at dinner time. The RCAF Museum is worth a visit… it was here that so many pilots trained to fly Spitfires in World War Two… and it’s the Trenton Armed Forces Base that hosts the annual Armed Forces Weekend and Air Display in early July. There are fishing derbies… walleyes abound in nearby waters… so do bass and salmon… you can enjoy music shows in the park… art shows, a dog show, classic cars, and a Scottish/Irish Festival… so much to do that make Trenton a place to stay for a while.
