Approach from Downstream. Sometimes Channel Wall is Submerged
Glen Miller… a village, not the band leader… gives this lock its name. Just south of the lock, a road bridge spans the river with a clearance of 22 feet on the east side.

The View Upstream from Glen Miller Lock
The approach begins well south of the dam, with a low wall blocking the turbulence from the dam outflow. If you want a taste of history that predates mankind… check out the Beasdell Boulder. This is believed to be the largest glacial “erratic” in Ontario… possibly in North America! The lockmaster will be glad to tell you how to find it. The lock can be reached easily from Highway 401 and has a large picnic area.
